We LeaRN aS oNE - lET'S make it Normal
This documentary I produced for a client, TUDublin Department of Social Care for my Professional Project module in third year. This was my first experience working for a client and I gained valuable work experience during this process. The primary objective was to showcase the Learning Together Programme which is a two year full time course allowing six to seven young adults with intellectual disabilities to attend college and study for a level 3 QQI qualification. Challenges faced included interviews being conducted remotely due to Covid restrictions and no on location filming allowed. The client was pleased with the final product which was released at a public launch at the University in November 2021.
Castleknock Tidy Towns
I produced this short promotional video on Castleknock Tidy Towns as part of my professional digital video module in fourth year. It gave me an opportunity to film on location, having been restricted due to the pandemic. I got lots of valuable experience experimenting with shots and a little after effects in post production. The organization now use the video for promotional purposes on their website.
Unmasked
Unmasked is a short participatory documentary on the theme of cosplay, cosplayers and the cosplay community which I produced for my final year project. It is interview based, featuring contributions from cosplayers Luc, Andrew and Jeanette, providing insights into why they cosplay and what they get from the community. The second half of the documentary is shot at Dublin Comic Con, featuring Vox pops with cosplayers and lots of bright colorful visuals capturing the excitement. This is my most ambitious project to date.and allowed me develop my interview skills, filming techniques, sound recording and editing.
Unmasked Trailer
This is a short trailer for the participatory documentary I made Unmasked (see above for more details). This trailer was created and released shortly before the official premiere of Unmasked at Kaleidoscope 2022. It features new footage and unused excerpts from people who were interviewed at Dublin Comic Con, as well as bright colorful visual effects to introduce the main four cosplayers interviewed for Unmasked.
Alaska Music Video
This is a very short music video I created based on the song Alaska by Maggie Rogers. All the footage featured in this music video is royalty free and comes from the website Pexels, to visually represent the different lyrics of the song.
The video was created solely using Adobe After Effects and The visuals and footage seen in the chorus were all created using the potential of the software.
nICKTOONS rACING rEVIEW
This is a video that comes from another YouTube channel I produce content for called Reiso. Typically, these videos are less formal and tend to be characterized by absurdist humor and a more exaggerated and silly persona for comedic intent. In this video I review a PC game titled Nicktoons Racing, where I delve into detail about what the game is about and my experiences and views playing it.
I have since made many more review videos on this channel similar to this one.
